Adults classes
Whether you’re new to jiu jitsu, or a seasoned practitioner, we are committed to offering innovative jiu jitsu programs tailored to your needs, goals and experience level. With a variety of adult classes, we offer something for everyone. Our adults programs welcome students from 14 years-old and above.
We currenly offer the following programs for adults:
- BJJ Beginners: This class is for those just beginning their jiu-jitsu journey. In this program, we teach the foundational movements in jiu jitsu as well as the most basic concepts and techniques. Because this class is designed for beginners, we focus a larger portion of the class on technique drilling, ensuring that our students can execute the movements properly and safely rather than sparring. Outcomes of this program include improved focus and body awareness, a basic understanding of Jiu-jitsu and self-defense, improved fitness as well as social interaction. Our introductory program is great to anyone new or returning to Jiu-Jitsu. The beginner Jiu-Jitsu student start their journey as a white belt and stay in this program until they achieve their first stripe (around 3 months of practice).
- BJJ Intermediate: Our Intermediate Class is our core class offering. In this class we teach the primary combinations, transitions and techniques from different scenarios, as well as the skills necessary to safely participate in rolling (live grappling sparring). We dive in areas of takedowns, guard, guard passing, mount, and submissions with details that allow you to understand and execute efficiently. We also integrate more positional sparring and live rolling, enabling you to put your knowledge to practice. Outcomes of this program include deeper understanding of Jiu-jitsu, improved cardiovascualr endurance, strength and flexibility, as well as social interaction and stress relief. Our BJJ Intermediate program is designed for the everyday practitioner and is a mixed level class. All belts welcome! *Students must have at least 3 months of experience prior to entering or obtain instructor approval.
- BJJ Advanced: This program offers a more challenging advanced class, where we teach higher level techniques and complex sequences, allowing you to take your game to the next level. You will learn how to connect multiple transitions and apply high level techniques successfully. We also integrate more positional sparring and push your limits with more intense live rolling. Outcomes of this program include a broad understanding of Jiu-jitsu, improved reflexes, cardiovascualr endurance, strength and flexibility, as well as social interaction. Our BJJ Advanced program are designed for those who have a solid foundation. *Students must be white belt 4 stripes and up or have 9 to 12 months of experience to attend.
- No-Gi Jiu-jitsu: No-Gi is a variation of Jiu-Jitsu without the Gi or Kimono. This class removes the Gi from Jiu-Jitsu and puts you in a real life grappling environment. The class focuses on modifying our normal Jiu-Jitsu techniques by reducing emphasis on the ability to grab clothing material. In this style you will learn how to develop different variety of leverage and grappling techniques. The No-Gi practices provide opportunities and basic knowledge for practitioners to transition or mix with other modalities such as MMA. Outcomes of this program include a broad understanding grappling, improved reflexes, cardiovascualr endurance, strength and flexibility, as well as social interaction. Students can attend according to their level of experience decribed in the programs above.
- Submission Wrestling: In this class we focus on studying wrestling techniques, drilling takedowns, and practising wrestling-specific skills as well as submission holds to help you develop a well-rounded grappling game. Wrestling is an incredibly valuable skill to complement your Jiu-Jitsu. Incorporating wrestling into your BJJ training can significantly enhance your overall grappling abilities and provide you with a competitive edge. Outcomes of this program include a broad understanding grappling and takedowns, improved cardiovascualr endurance, explosiveness and agility as well as social interaction. All levels are welcome although we encorage beginners to complete our introductory program prior attending this class.
